Care of brass fittings
The daily use of brass fittings leads to corrosion over time. The surface darkens and acquires the typical patina. This discoloration should not be confused with rust, but is an aesthetic gain for many people.
If such discoloration is undesirable, you must clean the fittings regularly.
With our brass fittings, you have the choice between a lacquered or waxed version.
Lacquered brass fittings can lose their shine as soon as the lacquer is damaged by external wear and tear. This corrosion caused by damage is typical of the material and is not a reason for complaint or a defect. In particular, avoid damage caused by improper installation. Only clean lacquered fittings with mild cleaning agents.
Our waxed fittings are polished through everyday use. The typical dark patina gradually develops on the parts that are not touched. This discoloration makes the fitting unique and is not a reason for complaint or defect. The wax used is intended to preserve the handle until it is installed and protect it from environmental influences. You can also easily remove the wax yourself with a cloth.
